Tierra Madre Roasters

Visual Identity•Packaging Design•UI/UX Design•3D Art Direction

The specialty coffee market is often saturated with generic minimalist aesthetics or overused rustic clichés. The challenge for Tierra Madre was to distance itself from these conventions and build a brand identity that conveyed a tactile, dark, and sophisticated luxury. The goal was to position it as a high-end boutique roastery that deeply respects the origin of the bean, elevating coffee consumption to a "daily ritual" without losing the human warmth of the artisanal process.

Visual Identity & Typography

At RenderVisuals, I approached this project from an almost cinematic perspective, where light and texture dictate the brand's tone. I developed a visual system grounded in a deep palette (Charcoal Black and Brilliant Bone) that allows the product to shine. The main logo is anchored by a bespoke customization of the DM Serif Display typeface—carefully modified to enhance its editorial elegance and unique character. This is complemented by a timeless monogram (TM) designed to function as a physical seal of quality.

Materiality & Physical Ecosystem & Digital Environment & Social Presence

The identity scaled flawlessly from print to screen. I designed a physical ecosystem that includes hand-stamped takeaway cups, canvas and leather barista aprons, tasting cards featuring topographic data, and a premium packaging system based on matte black pouches categorized by earthy color accents. Finally, I translated this tactile materiality into the digital realm with an immersive, dark-mode e-commerce interface and a curated social media grid.
